Borovets is 30 kilometers away from the Koko Hills complex,
while the village of Belchin is 13 kilometers away. The Rila Monastery is 80 kilometers away, and the Rila Lakes are 17 kilometers away. The nearest airport is Sofia Airport, located 71 kilometers away.
"Panichishte" is a mountain resort at an altitude of 1350-1450 meters
above sea level. During the winter, several ski slopes and ski lifts are available for tourists. Panichishte is one of the rapidly developing ski resorts in Bulgaria, similar to Borovets and Pamporovo. The proximity to the Rila National Park and the Rila Lakes makes Panichishte a preferred destination for relaxation even in summer. Several marked hiking trails are laid out in the area, and there are good conditions for various sports. Hotels and restaurants are available throughout the region.
From Sapareva Banya, several tourist routes
lead to various monasteries and churches in nearby villages.
The Seven Rila Lakes are the longest
and most visited group of lakes in Bulgaria. They are arranged in a cascade between 2100 and 2500 meters above sea level. Their names, from the highest to the lowest, are: The Tear, The Eye, The Kidney, The Twin, The Trefoil, The Fish Lake, and The Lower Lake.
The waters of the lakes flow into one another
and give rise to the Jerma River. The hike between the lakes covers a distance of about 8.5 km, which takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
The geyser in Sapareva Banya is one of the hottest
in the world with its 103 degrees. It is the only one in continental Europe and is the most violent and accessible geyser in the world - it pulses every 5-6 minutes. The height of its water column is 18 m and it springs from a depth of 75 m.
The many colored lights
that are turned on during summer evenings make it a remarkable sight.
Tsari Mali Grad is a museum complex
in the village of Belchin and a branch of the Historical Museum in Samokov. The complex, officially opened in 2009, consists of: the medieval church "St. Petka", a museum part below it and an ancient fortress located on the hill above them.
The Tsari Mali Grad fortress has been declared a
cultural monument of national importance and has been studied since 2007. Next to it is a cult complex, where the stone cross and the vow of the Holy Savior or the Ascension of the Lord were, a medieval church from the 15th century and the remains of two early Christian temples, under whose foundations are the ruins of a pagan sanctuary.
The Goritsa Eco-Trail is located in the Rila Mountains,
near Sapareva Banya. It leads to the Ovcharenski Waterfall, which is situated at the foot of the Kabul section of Rila. The waterfall has a height of 39 meters and is the lowest waterfall in Rila, standing at only 900 meters above sea level.
A viewing platform and a bench for resting
are available in front of the waterfall. The trail is approximately 2 km long and takes around 40 minutes to complete.
